    The Gippsland Textile House

    In similar historical setting to Melbourne , the Gippsland centre is giving life to the creative adaptation and development of a state of the art textile house, aptly named "Textile Explosion."

    A textile house that inspires artisans from around Australia , promoting individuality, creativity and excellence in design, delivering to the world. A textile house that utilizes and works with natural fibers, connects with, and shares the ancient wisdom, knowledge and futuristic options with talented artisans.

    Location in the Community
    Artisans from all over Gippsland have come to live in this area to be with others in a village atmosphere- bursting with the unique and unusual, the delicious and the delightful. Harvesting this creativity is the next step. Bumblebee wishes to own and develop a space to employ people to engage their skills even further and promote their work in conjunction with the larger marketing arm.

    The showcase
    Local food fare along with Bumblebee Factory produce can be translated into creative and tasty dishes to delight the tourist and passer by.

    Each year the centre will become the focal point for the Strzelecki Festival.

    The many rooms give promise to small boutiques, woolen products, silk products, cotton products and recycled textiles, and work- shop space for regional textile artisans, with in the cottage industry, to create and show case product.

    The dairy also features a large cool room suitable for food storage and packaging before distribution to Melbourne for regional produce.

    The regional food fare can be brought in from surrounding areas, including southern N.S.W. and stored ready for distribution and connection with the Melbourne centre and outlets.

    Artisans - The Craft and Textile Artists
    Committed and talented artisans are employed to work in partnership with up and coming artists, graduates from college and apprenticeships. Employment and training in conjunction with school- based learning is offered.

    Trained and talented artists inspire and share their skills-offering quality design possibilities.

    Textile design artists also work in Bumblebee Industry to deliver products that can assist rural and regional development in poorer communities- the center networks with community centers and private studios, in Australia and overseas.
